The opposite of love is not hate, it’s indifference. The opposite of art is not ugliness, it’s indifference. The opposite of faith is not heresy, it’s indifference. And the opposite of life is not death, it’s indifference.

Amy Ritchart

Writer. Photographer. Seeker of purpose.

Precariously balancing keva and kavanah in a chaotic world.

This blog was born years ago when I began writing with my longtime friend Maria Rice McClure. Our blog "It's Whatever," also published in the local newspaper, began as a way to bring our readers together in conversation about everyday matters.

Along the way we discussed places to go, family matters — and launched our tremendously popular "21 Days of Cookies" November/December feature, whereby readers checked in daily for a cookie recipe — and the story that went with it.

Here we will focus on intention. Focusing on these life moments while we're living them, and participating with faith and heart.

Balance is ever more precarious — as is resistance to despair. Here we hope to inspire and be inspired.

I hope you'll join us on this journey — to read along, comment and write to us, and with us, as well.

B'shalom,

— Amy
